Pila
Brief History

The original poblacion area was then located in the northeastern part were now the municipality building of Victoria, Laguna was constructed and also known to be the site of present town of Pila being the latter was only a part of this town.
The most prominent families of the town are the Relova’s and Rivera’s who were the descendants of Filipino Spanish and Filipino Portuguese blood.
The town got its name “PILA” from the Franciscan Missionaries who named it after they saw the Queue of Ponso (Anthills).
Pila was dubbed as “BAYANG PINAGPALA” since the old constructed churches and old houses in the town proper were not destroyed even during the Spanish and Japanese occupation. It was also declared as a NATIONAL HISTORICAL LANDMARK by the National Historical Institute on May 17, 2000.
